Indigenous health academics are important members of medical schools’ teaching, research and student support teams, bringing unique and valuable knowledge, insights and expertise.

To help medical schools’ work in supporting Indigenous academics within the workplace and teaching environments and successfully progress their careers, the LIME Network has developed the Best Practice Approaches to Supporting Indigenous Health Academics in Medical Schools document which recommends a range of approaches that have been found to be effective by a number of Indigenous health academics working in medical schools in Australia and New Zealand.

Medical Deans is very pleased to support the document and we encourage medical schools – and other relevant organisations – to review the recommendations and consider which might be relevant and beneficial to their specific needs and within their individual context.
