Professor Gervase Chaney

Professor Gervase Chaney is the National Head of School, School of Medicine, the University of Notre Dame Australia. Gervase is a graduate from the University of Western Australia and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. He has been a consultant general paediatrician since 1999, working predominantly at Perth’s sole tertiary paediatric hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) – now Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).
Gervase has served in numerous leadership and management roles throughout his career at PMH and the Child and Adolescent Health Service. These include Director of Postgraduate Medical Education; Director of Clinical Planning and Reform; Chairman of Paediatric Medicine Clinical Care Unit; the Executive Director of PMH and Executive Director Commissioning, Perth Children’s Hospital.
Gervase has undertaken National and State leadership roles in health, including President of the Paediatrics and Child Health Division and Board member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians; co-Chair of the WA Child and Youth Health Network; Chair of Kidsafe WA; Foundation and Board member of the Academy of Child and Adolescent Health (ACAH). He is currently a Board member of the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and the Chair of ARACY (the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth).
